In workshops we like to entertain, educate and
teach new skills within a pleasant atmosphere.
When we work in schools, doing performances and workshops, we
often work to a theme, (e.g.. numeracy), and we play our part in
supporting the National Curriculum. Our aim, as expressed in our
motto, is “Happy Learning Children!”
There are hundreds of pages of the national curriculum dedicated
to speaking and listening, and puppetry is an exciting tool, in
which the children can draw and design on paper, use their
imagination and creativity to form their own design on a blank
puppet.
The next step is in learning and practicing puppeteering skills
and then experiencing the use of puppet stages.
The children will learn about the history of puppeteering
throughout the ages and of the different types of puppet
available today. They interact in pairs or groups, and if time
permits, they will be able to present their own show - either to
the class - or to the school. The children begin by drawing
their puppet character on paper with a set of puppet blanks, to
which they add the features they have designed.

enjoyable day by all the students and staff. Organised and
